Jaguar is redefining its brand with the debut of three ultra-luxury electric vehicles, aiming to establish itself exclusively as an electric luxury marque by 2025. The first of these models—a four-door grand tourer—is set to be unveiled as a concept during Miami Art Week in December 2024, with the production version scheduled for a 2025 release. This grand tourer will embody the brand's “modern luxury” vision, combining Jaguar’s heritage with future-forward EV technology.
The design of the grand tourer prototype hints at bold, sweeping lines with a prominent, extra-long clamshell hood and a sophisticated, steeply raked windshield. Jaguar’s new EV platform, named Jaguar Electrified Architecture (JEA), underpins this lineup, promising a bespoke driving experience distinct from Land Rover. Expected to deliver over 600 horsepower and a range of around 300-400 miles, the grand tourer will mark the most powerful and capable road car in Jaguar's history, targeting the high-performance luxury market that includes competitors like the Cadillac Celestiq, Mercedes-Maybach EQS680, and Rolls-Royce Spectre.
Following the grand tourer, Jaguar will introduce an XJ-replacement luxury sedan and an SUV to rival the Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover Electric. These additions will emphasize Jaguar’s commitment to luxurious, high-performing EVs, designed for discerning buyers. With a price starting at around £100,000 (approx. $127,000), the new lineup signifies Jaguar’s aim to compete in the exclusive luxury segment, placing its models as both premium and performance-centric.
Although Jaguar’s new models are geared primarily towards the North American and European markets, the appeal of an ultra-luxury electric lineup could resonate in India, where demand for luxury EVs is on the rise. Given Jaguar's historic appeal in India, where brand recognition is strong, there is speculation that introducing these EVs could capture the attention of affluent Indian buyers seeking exclusive electric options in the luxury segment.
As Jaguar phases out its current lineup, including the electric I-Pace SUV, the upcoming models represent a clean slate, crafted to appeal to a new generation of luxury EV buyers. Built at JLR’s Solihull plant alongside models like the Range Rover, these new EVs will be Jaguar’s most ambitious offerings yet, blending advanced technology, elite performance, and design excellence in an all-electric future.
