At the Auto Expo 2025, MG Motor India stole the spotlight by unveiling the MG Cyberster, a drop-top electric roadster that blends heritage-inspired design with cutting-edge EV technology. The Cyberster, MG’s first electric sports car, is set to redefine the electric vehicle landscape in India.
MG Motor India, now operating as JSW-MG Motor India, announced pre-reservations for the Cyberster during the expo, with official bookings set to commence in March 2025. Deliveries will follow swiftly in April 2025. The Cyberster will be sold exclusively through MG Select, a premium retail network that will also offer the MG Mifa 9 MPV, rebranded as the M9 for the Indian market.
The India-spec Cyberster features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup powered by a 77kWh battery pack, delivering a massive 510hp and 725Nm of torque. This configuration propels the Cyberster from 0 to 100kph in a blistering 3.2 seconds, with a CLTC-rated range of 580km. MG hinted at introducing a more affordable rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version with a smaller 64kWh battery depending on market response.

It also becomes the first EV in India to feature scissor doors, offering a dramatic entry and exit experience.
The Cyberster will launch in four color options in India: red, grey, white, and yellow. Globally, it is available in six colors, reflecting MG’s efforts to cater to diverse tastes.
Priced competitively (expected to be announced soon), the Cyberster is set to cater to India’s growing base of affluent, tech-savvy buyers seeking a blend of luxury, performance, and sustainability. Its exclusivity as a fully imported unit (CBU) underlines its premium positioning.
As MG continues to expand its electric portfolio, the Cyberster is more than just a sports car—it’s a statement of MG’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV innovation in India. Deliveries start in April 2025, and enthusiasts better act fast—this one’s bound to be a showstopper.
