/Tata Motors Unveils Avinya X Concept at Auto Expo 2025: A Sneak Peek at the Future of Premium EVs
Tata Motors has taken a bold step into the future of electric vehicles, unveiling the striking Avinya X concept at Auto Expo 2025. Set to be the first model from a new family of premium EVs, the Avinya X gives a fresh glimpse of what’s to come, following its earlier iteration showcased in 2022. While still in concept form, the Avinya X presents a sharp departure from its predecessor, featuring a coupe-SUV design that blends muscular lines with a minimalist approach.
At the heart of the Avinya X’s design is its expansive “T” logo, which doubles as an LED lighting signature at both the front and rear. The clean, modern fascia is complemented by gloss black finishes on the bumpers and a set of slim, horizontal DRLs with Matrix Technology. The coupe-like silhouette stands tall with sharply raked front and rear windscreens, contrasting finishes on the C-pillar, and dual-tone 22-inch wheels. This is a car that’s all about first impressions, with a sleek and aggressive exterior promising to turn heads on the road.
The interior of the Avinya X is equally futuristic. While Tata has kept much of the cabin under wraps, early glimpses reveal a dual-tone dashboard with a floating central infotainment screen that’s strikingly similar to the one in the Range Rover SUV. The two-spoke steering wheel, designed with a large center boss, adds to the futuristic theme. A slim screen spanning the width of the dashboard serves as the instrument cluster, maintaining a minimalist feel.
When the Avinya X reaches production, it’s expected to include an array of cutting-edge features aimed at enhancing the driving experience. These will likely include vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a 360-degree camera. An ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite is also expected, underscoring Tata’s commitment to safety and convenience in its premium offerings.
The production version of the Avinya X will be underpinned by Tata’s new EMA (Electric Modular Architecture) platform, developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). This flexible platform is designed to support various configurations, including front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. Tata Motors has yet to confirm the battery specifications, but it is expected that the Avinya X will offer a range of over 600 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to its scalable battery pack options.
The Avinya X marks an exciting step for Tata Motors as it enters the premium electric vehicle market. With the launch expected in 2026, the Avinya X promises to be more than just another electric SUV—it’s a bold statement about the future of mobility, combining luxury, design, and sustainability in one compelling package.
As Tata continues to evolve its EV portfolio, the Avinya X and its production counterpart will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s electric future.
