Benelli has officially unveiled the Leoncino Bobber 400, marking its foray into the mid-capacity bobber segment. Inspired by American cruiser aesthetics, this Euro5+ compliant model combines retro styling with modern engineering, catering to riders who want a blend of classic looks and everyday practicality.

At its core is a brand-new 386.5cc 60-degree V-twin engine, the first of its kind from Benelli. This powerplant churns out 25bhp at 8000rpm and 27lb.ft of torque at 4500rpm, delivering manageable performance for A2 license holders and urban riders alike. A 6-speed gearbox and a low-maintenance belt drive—a rarity in smaller-capacity motorcycles—make this bike both functional and stylish.

Drawing heavily from American bobber giants like Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle, the Leoncino Bobber 400 flaunts a minimalistic, blacked-out aesthetic with subtle pops of contrasting color on the fuel tank and body panels. A horizontal pill-shaped LED headlight with a sleek DRL adds a modern touch, while bar-end mirrors and a dual-barrel exhaust amplify its cruiser vibes.

Ergonomically, the bike is all bobber—low-rise handlebars, forward-set footpegs, and a seat height of just 730mm ensure a relaxed, accessible riding position. The kerb weight is kept light at 180kg, further enhancing its approachability for new and seasoned riders.

Chassis and Suspension

The bike sits on a steel double-cradle frame paired with non-adjustable 35mm USD front forks offering 125mm of travel, and twin rear shocks providing 100mm. These components strike a balance between stability and comfort. Alloy wheels wrapped in chunky rubber add to its robust persona, and braking is managed by single discs at both ends.

Tech and Features

The Leoncino Bobber 400 keeps things simple yet functional. A circular TFT display handles instrumentation, blending classic styling with modern readability. A pillion seat is available as an accessory, catering to riders looking for occasional two-up adventures.

Positioning and Market Potential

While Benelli has yet to confirm an Indian launch, the Leoncino Bobber 400 has the potential to shake up the market if priced competitively. Positioned below the Leoncino 500 (₹4.99 lakh ex-showroom) and above Keeway's V302C, this new entrant could attract a broader audience with its affordable appeal and unique belt-drive setup.

With its distinctive looks, low maintenance design, and accessible performance, the Leoncino Bobber 400 could be a game-changer for Benelli, especially if it arrives in India’s growing cruiser market. Expected availability is set for 2025 in global markets, with UK pricing still under wraps.
