Triumph Speed Twin 900

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Speed Twin 900 in India, priced at ₹8.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest iteration brings a sportier design, advanced technology, and a nod to the brand’s heritage while staying competitive in the modern classic segment. With a price bump of ₹40,000 compared to its predecessor, the Speed Twin 900 aims to justify its premium tag with significant updates to aesthetics and functionality.

Sharper Design Meets Classic Charm

The 2025 Speed Twin 900 has undergone a visual transformation to align with its larger sibling, the Speed Twin 1200. The bike now features a sleeker, more minimalistic design, incorporating blacked-out elements and refined aesthetics. Key upgrades include:

  • Front End Enhancements: A new upside-down Marzocchi fork, a sporty mudguard, and Triumph-branded radial front calipers manufactured by J.Juan.
  • Dynamic Rear: Fabricated aluminum swingarm and piggyback suspension units contribute to improved handling.
  • Rider Comfort: A redesigned bench seat, raised to 780 mm, ensures better comfort during long rides and cornering.

Triumph offers three striking color options:

  1. Pure White: Accented with blue and orange stripes.
  2. Phantom Black: Features dark grey stripes with gold accents.
  3. Aluminum Silver: A red-framed Triumph logo adds a bold contrast.

Tech-Forward Features

The most significant upgrade comes in the form of a modern 5-inch TFT display, replacing the previous single-pod digi-analogue instrument cluster. The display not only provides critical ride data but also supports:

  • Bluetooth Connectivity: Riders can access turn-by-turn navigation, manage calls, and control music via their smartphones.
  • Charging Port: A USB-C socket ensures on-the-go device charging.

The switchgear has been updated to align with the Speed Twin 1200, giving the bike a cohesive, premium feel.

Performance That Stays True

Triumph has retained the tried-and-tested 900cc parallel-twin engine, which remains compliant with Euro 5+ regulations. The engine delivers:

  • Power: 64 bhp at 7,500 rpm.
  • Torque: 80 Nm at 3,800 rpm.
  • Gearbox: A 6-speed transmission.

Riding dynamics are enhanced with two riding modes, Road and Rain, alongside features like cornering ABS and traction control. An optional cruise control accessory adds convenience for long-distance touring.

What Sets It Apart

The 2025 Speed Twin 900 marks a shift toward modernity while staying true to its classic roots. Key differentiators include:

  • A sportier, more aggressive design.
  • Upgraded hardware, including the Marzocchi front fork and Triumph-branded radial calipers.
  • An advanced electronics suite featuring TFT instrumentation and Bluetooth integration.

Availability and Pricing

Bookings for the Speed Twin 900 are now open, with test rides set to commence at Triumph dealerships across India by the end of December 2024. Deliveries will begin in January 2025.

At ₹8.89 lakh, the Speed Twin 900 remains Triumph’s most affordable modern classic. While the ₹40,000 price hike may raise eyebrows, the enhanced design and tech upgrades position it as a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking a balance between tradition and innovation.

Verdict

The 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 is more than just an upgrade; it’s a statement of intent. By blending classic aesthetics with modern technology, Triumph is catering to a new generation of riders who value performance, style, and connectivity. With its sharper looks and advanced features, the Speed Twin 900 is ready to carve its niche in India’s growing premium motorcycle market.
